Born in Hannover in 1995, Lev Friedmann first experienced theater during an exchange year in Japan. After youth projects and minor roles at the Staatstheater Hannover, he studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Leipzig (2016–2020).
As part of the studio program, he was an ensemble member at Schauspiel Köln (2018–2020) before moving to Theater Freiburg (until 2024). Collaborations include Charlotte Sprenger, Rafael Sanchez, and Ersan Mondtag. In response to Russia’s war against Ukraine, he wrote/directed «ЯК ТИ? WIE GEHT ES DIR?» (Theater Freiburg/Deutsches Theater Göttingen, 2022–24). He is a signatory of the #ActOut manifesto.
After returning to Schauspiel Köln for the 2024/25 season, he joins the Schauspielhaus Zürich ensemble in 2025/26.
