
Born in Berlin in 1992, Zeynep Bozbay grew up there. She gained her first theater experience before studying, including at the Deutsches Theater Berlin in Nurkan Erpulat’s "Crash" and at P14, the youth theater of the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. She studied acting at the Mozarteum Salzburg from 2012 to 2016. For her first post-graduation work, "Wut" (directed by Nicolas Stemann), she was nominated as "Best Young Actress" by the journal Theater heute in 2016.
From 2017 to 2022, she was part of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele under Matthias Lilienthal’s directorship. She subsequently guest-performed at the Schauspielhaus Zürich. Collaborations include work with Pınar Karabulut, Yael Ronen, Stefan Pucher, and Jan Bosse. She also regularly acts in film and TV, appearing in series like "Damaged Goods" (winner of the 2023 Jupiter Award for Best Series), ZDFneo’s "Späti", and "Tatort Stuttgart". Several films featuring her will be released in 2025/26, including Sebastian Husak’s debut "Bubbles", "Wovon sollen wir träumen" and "3 Kameradinnen" by Milena Aboyan.
Starting in the 2025/26 season, she joins the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Zürich.
