Mouataz Alshaltouh

Mouataz Alshaltouh, born in 1998 in Syria, attended school in Hamburg and gained his first stage experience at the youth club of the Ernst Deutsch Theater. He studied at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch (Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts), where he worked with directors including Iris Böhm, Alexander Simon, and Aysima Ergün.

During the 2024/25 season, he was a member of the ensemble at Theater Dortmund, playing the protagonist in Julia Wissert's production "Vatermal". Even during his acting training, Mouataz Alshaltouh delivered standout performances on screen in films like "Xoftex" (with Noaz Deshe), and shortly afterwards in television series such as "Munich Games" by Philipp Kadelbach. He will also be seen as one of the lead actors in the Disney+ series "City of Blood".

In 2023, he collaborated with Mahdi Fleifel, playing the role of Abou Love in the film "To A Land Unknown". The film was invited to prestigious festivals, including the Cannes International Film Festival. Starting with the 2025/26 season, Mouataz Alshaltouh will join the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Zürich.
