
Born in Kazakhstan in 1985, Dimitrij Schaad moved to Germany in 1993. After acting studies in Munich, he worked at Schauspielhaus Bochum, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schaubühne Berlin, and Maxim Gorki Theater (over 40 productions, often co-authoring texts). Awards include «Young Actor of the Year» (Theater heute), Ulrich-Wildgruber-Preis, and «Actor of the Year 2024.» Known for films like «Die Känguru-Chroniken» and Netflix’s «Kleo» (Grimme Prize, German Acting Award). With his brother Alex Schaad, he co-created films including «Aus meiner Haut» (Queer Lion Award, Venice 2022). He is currently head writer/showrunner for Netflix’s «Kacken an der Havel».
