A production of the Junges Schauspielhaus
magine if everything you were told were true: watching too much TV gives you square eyes, spinach gives you superpowers, and when the ice cream truck plays music, it means it's run out of ice cream. Sounds unbelievable? That's exactly the world you'll be whisked away to!
Here, lies become reality, and the world turns upside down. In this play, we ask: Why do adults lie, anyway? And what happens when children lie back? In a piece full of fantasy, riddles, and surprising twists, we'll collectively explore how truth and lies shape our lives.
Experience dream worlds and surreal stories that will change everything you thought you knew about your life. What if adults suddenly admitted their (white) lies? Or what if we could invent a world together where lying isn't even necessary anymore?
With minimal language, a lot of magic, and witty everyday myths, we'll discover what it feels like to live in a world where nothing is as it seems – or perhaps it is? You'll laugh, be amazed, and ask yourself: Should I really believe everything I'm told?
The Zurich-based netzwerk wildi blaatere brings together artists from Switzerland and Germany who lovingly develop stories for audiences, whether they are close to or far from theater. Since 2019, the group has been creating their humorous, multi-layered spoken theater in the independent scene, and now brings it to the heart of Zurich's municipal theater, to open its doors to all who wish to be enchanted.
